Hello List,

This is for all of you who use HyperTrader.com's software, and maybe who
is contemplating on using them. I have been a heavy user of a few of
their (erstwhile) excellent products, and been always ready to jump in
to recommend to any & all in the list wanting to get quote from IB to
ts2ki. In the last week, this is how things have turned out,
specifically regarding
1) HyperServer Lite for IB TWS (HSL)
2) HyperOrder for IB

But first, want to see a bunch of traders being pushed & shoved around,
with them crying for help? See
http://forum.hypertrader.ws/forumdisplay.php?f=5

Too much is said about how people use HSL because it's free. But it's
always a very small part of the equation. I have always maintained that
this product is top notch, and very user friendly. For example, I never
need to create the same symbol twice, once in GS & once in HSL
"portfolio". Specifically important as IB provides a very limited set of
simultaneous symbols. And the damn thing just worked.

It all started going downhill when HyperTrader made some changes in the
HSL code, presumably to provide better integration with their other
"professional tools". It just didn't work. The trouble has always been
that the new version can not handle high volume of quotes. I track 4
equity fut & 5 currency fut in GLOBEX, zb/zn in ECBOT & 50 stocks. That
is all. It's too much for HSL new version. All my complaint over the
last 3-4 months was to no avail. "We test with IB demo account" was the
standard answer. Well, IB demo has no quote volume at all.

Now a lot of noise is made by some that the reason for the new version
is that it needs to show ads to get revenue. While that is an annoyance,
it's never a deal breaker for me. A product that doesn't work (with or
without ads) is.

On the morning of 12/30, 1800CDT, my HSL just "quit". No error message,
nothing. Just no quote. As I was aware of the "compulsory upgrade", I
"upgraded". Quotes started coming in, but next day I discovered it froze
at night (too much EUR movement perhaps?). CPU maxed out, not being able
to close HSL, the list goes on.

Right now, I am limping along, still using HSL "latest & greatest", with
all stock quotes turned off & most futures quotes as well - whatever I
am not trading at the moment. I still haven't decided which other
product to use - maybe I would try some of them first... like I don't
already have enough to do.

As far as HyperOrder is concerned, see the forums of HyperTrader. I
wasted countless hours trying to get this thing to work before giving
up. Same story - a) Uses the same "new technology" of HSL, causing
hangups, b) VERY poorly tested.

Damn, how can they test anything? They do not have access to the quote
service, it seems.. something that costs a princely 10 bucks a month.

Re HO, see my post http://forum.hypertrader.ws/showthread.php?t=607
No "yes" so far.

So if you are a present / prospective user of HSL, please keep the above
in mind and maybe ask some hard questions to HyperTrader, before you get
started.

Hello Abhijit,

I would send you the data if I had it-but I don't.

I haven't seen your followup note-what happened,did the old
Hyperlite stop working? If so,have you decided on an alternate
route?

Someone recently posted about using Dynastore/IB and feeding 3
computers with TS2k installed,cost is $75.

Do you use any version of Hypertraders stuff to convert ascii to XPO
or OMZ format data?
