The edge of the World occurs a few miles further north. There are no
communities larger than a restaurant and motel or two further north for
about 100 miles. Only one major phone user before 100 miles. Nearest
telco switch is 6-7 miles. Next nearest is 20 miles.
Name a place.
You can't get there from here. :)

Which kind of phone company are you hooked up with? Sounds like they
are laying a line on you. Pun intended. Then again they really may
not have any circuits anywhere near you. It is a business type
connection so it usually comes out of an exchange that has serviced
businesses for 15 to 20 years. Mine came from the next nearest
exchange to me.

I used ISDN when I lived in the boondocks. Dual channel is very solid
and runs 128k all day and all night with no problems. Actually single
channel would have been fine. Also used DTN satellite but that doesn't
sound like your kind of deal.
