Others have eloquently explained why this list doesn't alter or
supply Reply-To headers of its own. All email clients are different
in how they handle replies, and ideally folks would take the effort
to learn their clients well enough to direct replies intelligently.
For list work, better clients have some way of knowing that you're
reading a list, and have a "reply-to-list" capability.

A lesser known aspect of intelligent replying is thread control.
Officially, per the RFCs, threading is maintained through two headers,
called In-Reply-To, and References. Better clients will respect
these headers in replies, and will use them to group emails as you
read them into their conversational threads, if you so desire.

A problem arises when someone begins a new thread by simply "replying"
to an existing list article, without removing any In-Reply-To or
References headers so generated. Microsoft Outlook Express must
make this process very easy, and/or the correction very hard,
as users of OE seem to be the most frequent abusers of threading this way.
