it will be on both drives.
Yes, that's true. I should have quoted the suggestion, the mirrored
drives are part of a backup system. The failure you point out is
easily solved with one of the backup mirrored drives. The point is
that mirrored drives in hot swap bays make routine backups trivial, it
is a matter of a moment to hot swap and there is no need to stop
anything on the computer.
