There's no question that almost anything can be hacked. Windoze
is particularly vulnerable because 1) it's a huge target, with
millions of installed systems, and 2) it's very poorly written,
with lots of gaping security holes.
When/if Linux becomes more widespread, it will become a more
attractive target to the cyber psychopaths. However, even if it
got as much attention as Windows, I doubt it would have as many
security flaws. Why? Because it's open source, and thousands of
programmers review its code. Chances are somebody would have
found and fixed (or publicized a fix for) the flaw before a bad
guy did. Of course, once someone has publicized the bug, then
there might be a risky window... It will never be easy as long
as this idiot children are bent on destruction. Hopefully we'll
start to see some serious prison time meted out to the offenders
and make it look a little less fun.
