Connect one of these behind your DSL/Cable modem, and them put your
computers behind them.

On your computers have a software firewall.  I know nothing about Zone
Alarm, but Black Ice is no good because it fails to monitor outgoing
attempts to connect to the internet.  You need a firewall that
monitors port activity going both ways.  A free software firewall is
good at this:
