By the way, I have DSL and ZA filters out lots of unwanted traffic. To
minimize disk I-O, I have logging set to off.

Subject: ZoneAlarm Pro W2K problems resolved with new version 4.0

I previously posted about serious problems some users of W2K SP3, including
me, were having with the last few versions of ZA 3.X.

The newly released 4.0 version resolves these problems and seems otherwise
clean. The problems were actually resolved during beta testing.

I like ZA and think it's a good product; I've been using it for years.

Years ago a patch or two from Microsoft broke ZA, but that hasn't happened
for a long time. However, it pays to be careful with new releases of ZA or
anything, and see how other users fare before jumping in. I am reasonably
confident in the new release, at least on my system, because of my
participation in the beta. User forums are at http://forums.zonelabs.com
