I have a self-powered 4-port Cybex Switchview and I have no problems since
more than a year. I even use it with a display with 1600x1200.

If your KVM switch is a non-self-powered version, that could be your
problem.

I found that KVM switches that did not require a power source of their own
were problematic.  I switched to Belkin Omni-Cube self-powered KVMs and
have not had any problems with several that I am currently running --
