for 500 USD just get the dell machine, by the time you have spent money and
effort to get an
upgradeable machine and the one u buy now needs to be upgraded ..... you
wouldnt want to
upgrade it.  I have gone down that path for years and have redundant boards
of all type sitting
all over the place. Just buy the dell and say thanks to mr deflation.
