There is an XP Professional which is meant to replace W2K. My understanding
is that the benchmark test in question as reported in the linked article
tested XP pro with W2K.
If these benchmark tests are correct, stay away from XP pro. Slower is not
better, and that's what you seem to be getting with XP. But if you're
running Win98, then yes, go ahead and upgrade.
