some final notes on dual processors.
I have checked the affinity setting on all the processes and enabled both
processors for all PS2000i processes. Iget a separation of the processes
between the different processors. RS runs on one and an optimization runs on
another. So I can get as much as nearly 100% of use of both with high
demands on both ts.exe and ORRadar. There just isn't any options or
capabilities with my setup anyways, to get one of these processes running on
both processors. So, it screams but, it doesn't double scream. to be fair,
this could reflect a problem with my motherboard or BIOS. I would like to
hear if anyone else can run an optimization that will use 100% of both
processors.
I run an Iwill DBL100 motherboard with a Nov 2000 BIOS. I have 2
P3's(500MHz).

: Jim,
:
: Omega told me before TS2k was released that it does support dual
processors.
: Based on that I bought a dual processor machine. I can quite clearly see
it
: makes use of the dual processors. It is not hard to check. If you have
or
: get a dual processor just open the Windows task manager then left click on
: ts32.exe and click on Affinity. If both processors are not checked then
: check them. Do this on Server.exe, ORQuote.exe etc. They should all be
: checked. Then look at performance during the open or better yet run an
: optimization. You will see that both processors are working harder. If
the
: cost of two processors is in your budget you will find a boost in
: performance. I don't know if it is worth the money but it is nice.

:
: I have been told that, in order to effectively make use of dual
processors,
: software must have been specifically designed to take advantage of a
second
: processor. Can Tradestation 2000i take advantage of dual processors (Dell
: PIII 733MHz) under Windows 2000?
:
: Thanks in advance for your help on such a sad day.
