Subject: FutureSource Sales Tax Request

If you live in Texas and use FutureSource as your data provider, be aware
that the letter you received informing you to pay appropriate sales tax or
provide proof of tax exemption is perhaps a bit misleading, in that it
doesn't state payment is entirely VOLUNTARY, it is not mandatory. I
contacted the Texas Comptrollers Office (800) 252-5555 and was told that as
an individual, the State does NOT hold me liable for this non-compliance by
FutureSource. I then called Doug Brunner (800) 624-1269 and he admitted
payment was entirely voluntary, and no action could be taken by FS to
collect this tax, which was a complete reversal from my conversation with
him last week, when he told me if I refused to pay, the matter would be
referred to the tax department of FS and to the state of Texas for further
action. So, you should consult with your tax advisor and make sure you owe
the "back sales tax" before you send FutureSource a "GIFT". Doug Brunner
assured me that after our conversation today, he would make sure everyone
contacting him would be told "payment is completely voluntary".
