you don't know that for sure. We're talking a million lines of code
here......
could be ONE HUNDRED bad lines of code are affecting the entire
application.....
(for example, some dummy used a BUBBLE SORT instead of a QUICK SORT routine)
Omega just never spent the time to profile and "time" the app in real-time
conditions....
a really, really dumb mistake. But then again, they were anxious for the
revenue and RUSHED it to market.
But this is what happens to technology companies today....
one "tiny" mistake and BOOM, YOU'RE GONE...YOU'RE TOAST !
This mistake SOUNDs tiny, but was really HUGE.
So...What's the secret to great technology companies ?
1) PROACTIVELY LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS (they don't wait for feedback)
2) FABULOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL (even "tiny" mistakes are corrected in a
timely fashion)
