This is in response to Tim Morge's unreadable tick file problem:

Tim and others:

This is not spam; just a trader like the rest on the list.

I recommend Ontrack.com fixit utilities V 3.0. I run win2k Pro and ts2k,
NTFS file system. On at least one occasion, the new and latest V 3.0 Ontrack
disk defragger caught and corrected a file problem that the Microsoft
defragger (which came with win2k pro) did not catch and correct.

Plus, you get a faster computer with the new V 3.0 defragger. It organizes
your HD, and it makes your most used programs load and run significantly
faster.

Also, Tim, it's best to place your paging file on a second HD, the one you
use the least.

There are other great features on fixit utilities by ontrack that keep my
system and Trade Station 2000i humming with virtually no problems. I do the
following maintenance with Fix it every weekend:

-Boot, registry, and paging file degrag

-Clean out any orphaned registry entries.

-Check to see if all files are readable

Its around $40, at ontrack.com. A truly outstanding value for the money.
