I tried this fix as-is and it was a disaster. TS became very unstable
and crashed several times. After rummaging around in the registry, I
found another key for a "summary". One of the items in this key is the
number of toolbars. It still listed the original number of toolbars
(6) even though they were deleted. When I set this to zero, TS became
usable again. It seems the summary key value MUST equal the number of
toolbar keys! They did not seem to mention this in your note. :-)
It appears there is very little error checking done on registry
entries. This might also explain why TS often stays unstable for a
while, even though a problem is supposedly "fixed."
Anyway, thanks for the tip. With a bit more added, it seems to work.
Wish it would have been complete to start with.
