Maybe this might be of use to others while we are more or less on the topic.
Things I did to have the least risk of Internet problems when trading
online:
1. Dedicate the computer that I use for order entry to do nothing but that.
I found that if I was running an optimization with TS4.0 that it cut back on
my Internet performance. I don't know why but it did!!
2. Get the fastest most reliable connection available. Unfortunately ISDN is
the best I can get here.
3. Use Ping Plotter (there are others that work just as well) to monitor my
connection and isolate delays. It was by using Ping Plotter that I was able
to determine huge differences between different ISP's.
4. Select the most reliable ISP, possible. In my case a small local ISP has
performed far better than the larger companies.
If I think of more things I will add them. Hope this helps someone.
