yes, that seems to be true for the founding fathers of many great families.
Still, if we have a choice...
I remember one of the Omega listers, Jerry Ross, saying something last year
that probably struck a cord with me. If my memory serves me right, here is
what he posted in a similar context: that's all very true, he said, but he
would still rather be the one who buys the Brooklyn bridge then the one who
sells it.
Wasn't that well said?

On the one hand I might agree with you based on honesty, ethics, etc. On the
other hand you have a many famous and prominent persons and families that
were bootleggers, robber barons, and racketeers that stole and traded their
way to at least appearing to be respectable to some.
