Irishman, You got very good info from Patrick. Here is another 2 cents
worth, 1st re: IB.

The e-mini OK and fills about same as Jerrome's @ BEST Direct; However,
rates cheaper with IB & you see the Bid, Ask and Last Real Time at all times
when IB is not having a prob ( it happens occassionally). So use pinger as
Pat suggested ( and also us it with any internet software ) - - BUT also
cross check IB's " Last " occassionally, with your market feed ( sometimes
IB Locks Up ( as do the rest, but you can see IB's ) & as Patrick said - -
Don't trade when this condition is present. If you need to get Out of a
Trade with IB (e-mini ) the Help Desk can accomplish - - just be aware of
an additional $30.00 fee. If you tarde the Big SPOO, you need, in my
opinion, another broker with IB ( someone to call and get in / out of the
trade ) - - there are a number of them ( you use IB's Screen /
software - - but with a slightly different appearance and if you use your
own Macros, the child windows are NOT exactly at the same pixel x/y coord of
the personal screen, and No account software).

Once you get away from the e-mini ( Globex 2 contracts ) be sure to
ascertain How the " so called ELECTRONIC fill" is accomplished - - it may
make a difference to you. Outside the e-mini & S&P, you might want to
consider Jerome's software AND, as others have posted, eventually the
other softwares may switch to this technology. John Lithonian had a very
good post on it AND Very Truthful.

The 2 cents part. (1) Trade ONLY one contract UNTIL you can
CONSISTANTLY take money from the market.
(2) Want Only what the Market Wants ! (3) You can ONLY Trade Your Own
Belief System.

Trading the Markets, as you must know by now, Is Trading Human Emotion
( How do the masses react to New Information coming into the
markets ) - - can that be predicted ? I Don't think so - - so use
probabilities and percentages.

    Good Trading to All. John
