I had a compaq laptop for a week or two - it seemed to be poorly
engineered - ran way too hot - and was slower than it should have been -
then after about a month the drive crashed...
Got a dell laptop after that and was extremely happy. Ran faster, cooler,
and the display was a lot brighter. This was a couple years ago so things
could have changed. Actually I don't use it much anymore - it gave me a very
bad case of tendonitis that still hasn't gone away. But most any laptop will
do that.
