ZoneAlarm2.0 froze my win2000 solid. Support told me
that the latest version (file zalarm21) was specifically designed
to correct this.
ZA curiously brings up warnings when I'm offline saying that it
has just prevented entry on certain ports but a simple click on
the message removes it. This also occurs, although with less frequency,
on my win98 machine on a dialup modem.
I just finished installing LeoWeb today and left the software on
but clicked the DSL off after market hours. When I returned, I
had dozens of error1060 messages (?) for the LeoWeb
receiver software and one more ZoneAlarm message stating that
it had courageously prevented another intrusion. I suspect a
ZoneAlarm/LeoWeb conflict here or possibly a ZoneAlarm with
an overentusiastic personality. I haven't played around with it
yet to zero in on the problem but I had to "End Task" the Leo
receiver which is remaniscent of a previous install of Zone Alarm 2.0
and it's conflict with win2000.
I haven't tried other firewalls so I have no guage for comparison.
