EL code for higher highs

I'm writing a Tradestation indicator which involves defining an up-trend as
"a series of higher highs and higher lows."  Since this is such a basic
definition of a trend, I expected to find it already coded in EL, but so
far n luck. 

Can anyone tell me if it has already been done, and if so, where I could
find it?
