I'm on BMI cable. Apparently there is some problem with BMI
timestamps because my TS4 reported the time as 6:47 ET. I was
receiving data -- my quote screens were updating with new prices --
but the time never updated from 6:47. I exited TS and tried to re-
start the server, but it just says "Waiting for a valid date," etc,
and then about once or twice a minute it says "Bad Time Received:
Date 2680 (5/3/99) Time XXX" where XXX started at 638 and is
currently up to 651. (And it's 10:51 ET.) I've also been getting
dialog boxes from the server saying "Warning, please call Omega
Research, datafeed date is incorrect."
After waiting on hold for BMI "Customer Service" for a @#%@#% *HOUR*,
I finally got a rep who said "Everything is fine, we're not doing
anything wrong, nobody else has reported anything, it's your
problem." Thanks a heap. She tried re-profiling my receiver but
that didn't help. With some insistence I got her to check with her
cohorts, and she discovered there were 3 other cases of TS not
receiving timestamps this morning. So then she said "So that provies
it's a TradeStation problem. There's nothing we can do." I even
pointed out that my TradeStation software hasn't changed in many
months, but their feed changed significantly THIS MORNING (they just
dropped a whole bunch of data -- Canadian exchanges, Forex data,
etc.), but she refused to look into it any further.
Terrific. Yet another example of marvelous BMI service. Anybody got
any suggestions? (Other than the obvious solution of telling BMI to
stuff it, which is definitely my plan eventually, but I need a fix a
little quicker than that...)
