Headline: Omega Research Wins 1999 Cutting Edge Award for Most Innovative
          Business Techniques

======================================================================
    MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 1999--Omega Research, Inc.
(NASDAQ:OMGA) announced today its selection as winner of the 1999
Cutting Edge Award, an honor given annually by the Greater Miami
Chamber of Commerce to recognize the south Florida company which most
exemplifies the finest innovative techniques in business. The Greater
Miami Chamber of Commerce is among the five largest in the nation.
    More than sixty companies were considered from which fourteen
finalists were chosen. Each company was judged on the following
criteria: whether it has distinguished itself as an innovator;
exceptional marketing and sales strategies; strong and entrepreneurial
management team; exceptional growth and sustainable revenues;
profitability; and empowerment of employees to provide superior
customer service.
    The awards ceremony was held at the Loews Miami Beach Resort in
Miami's South Beach district, and was attended by more than 1000
members of south Florida's business and professional communities. The
keynote address was delivered by Allen H. Neuharth, former Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of Gannett Company, Inc. and founder of
USA Today.
    Ralph Cruz, Co-Chairman of the Board and Co-CEO of Omega
Research, commented, "We are obviously very pleased to have won such a
prestigious award. We have consistently throughout our company's
history endeavored to innovate with technology and create new markets,
as opposed to merely achieving results in existing ones." Cruz added,
"However, we have no intention of resting upon past success. Our
vision is to reach a time where no investor will feel comfortable
placing a trade unless that investor has used an Omega Research
product."
    Omega Research's 2000i line of software products is compatible
with the following real-time Internet and broadcast data services:
Data Broadcasting Corporation's (NASDAQ:DBCC) Signal Online
(Internet), StockEdge Online (Internet), InSite (Internet), DBC Signal
(Broadcast) and BMI (Broadcast); Data Transmission Network
Corporation's (NASDAQ:DTLN) DTN Real Time and DTNstant (Broadcast);
and PC Quote, Inc.'s (AMEX:PQT) Hyperfeed(tm) (Internet and
Broadcast). Agreements are also in place to add, later this year, as
compatible real-time data services, FutureSource Information Systems,
Inc.'s MDS network and stand-alone datafeeds, and Standard & Poor's
ComStock's Xpressfeed(tm).
