Lamont,

1) I think that all things being equal as far as performance, cable has more
reliability built in "statistically" than Internet.
2) Internet allows to be a diverse places and trade, cable cannot (in
general if you are away from home base)
3) Either system loose to satellite outfits because satellite does all of
the above and has one or two less failure originators, ex: my cable fails,
or my ISP is down or both if I receive Internet through cable which I do.

So think about it and choose the safest path.  To me satellite is the best
and although I have a cable based system, TS4 forces this, I am ready to
move on when TS 2k is ready.
