Last try at 2000i

I was interested in finding out if any day trader has been able to use
2000i without a very sluggish response going between workspaces (from
workspace tab to workspace tab) and without losing ticks.

I run Windows 98 on a 400 MHz, 256 k computer with a maximum of 1500
collected symbols using BMI cable. I have also increased my files and
buffers (to 99 and 50 respectively) and have basically an anti-virsus
program running in the background.

I run about 5-6 workspaces open with 4-8 charts (or quote windows) in
each workspace and between 4-10 indicators in each workspace. This
configuration runs very well in 4.0 but not in 2000i (for me).

I spoke to Tradestation and they suggested using Windows NT (which for
me means a new computer since the vendor I purchased mine from does not
support NT on the model I purchased), but could not assure me that the
sluggishness of response would be corrected even if I used NT.

I am not inviting criticism of Omega (there is enough of that on this
site, deservedly or not). What I am interested in is whether 2000i is a
usable product for intraday trading, especially on very short time
periods trading futures (although I also do monitor equities throughout
the day). Has anyone been able to configure 2000i on Windows 98 and get
it to respond like 4.0? Has anyone been able to configure it on Windows
NT and have it respond with at least the speed of 4.0?

I believe some of the people at Omega are aware of the speed problem.
Unfortunately service pack 3 is not due to be released until the 3rd or
4th quarter and there is no assurance that the speed issue is going to
be addressed and corrected. I am very frustrated and am hoping that
someone my have a solution to making 2000i work (with at least the same
efficiency of 4.0...which I have gone back to), if that is at all
possible.

Any constructive feedback would be appreciated. Hopefully returning
2000i and looking for a new 32 bit intraday software trading program in
not my only alternative.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
