I can't remember the original message - but my recollection is it dealt with US
equities (i.e., securities in a secular bull market).  In my experience - the
percentage profitable has something to do with the type of system - but it has
more to do with the primary trend in the market you're looking at (i.e., you're
likely to get a higher % of wins going long in a security that's in a secular
bull market than a security that's in a secular bear).  BTW - because I work with
intermediate ---> longer term systems - I always test them against a buy and hold
strategy.  One mark of a strong secular bull market is buy and hold usually beats
all but the most overoptimized systems.  Robyn
