Subject: Tick Counts

We did some Tick counts on the list soon after TS2K came out. Generally TS2K
and TS 4 tick counts were about the same provided TS2K had the hardware required
for the number of symbols in the portfolio.

Generally if you are collecting over a couple hundred symbols TS2K requires NT
to get the same tick counts as TS 4 might on an older Pentium PC. Some have
gotten good results on Windows 98 with a high-powered PII, but generally you pay
a significant performance penalty for running TS2K on Windows 98.

Generally it seems TS2K needs to be run on a Windows NT with one or more PII
processors in order to collect all the transmitted ticks for more than a couple
of hundred symbols.
