SERVICE PACK TWO IS COMING SOON
Dear Omega Research Customer,
It has been several weeks since the initial release of our new Omega

that you, our customers, have been providing us about the products. Based on
that input, we've worked on many enhancements to further improve the overall
performance and capabilities of the products. Now we are proud to announce
that those enhancements have been integrated to create Service Pack 2, which
is currently in duplication and will begin shipping this week.
For a complete listing of the enhancements and new functionality you will
find in Service Pack 2, go to
http://www.omegaresearch.com/support/whats_new/
<http://www.omegaresearch.com/support/whats_new/> .
If you have specific questions that you cannot find the answer to in Online
Help within your Omega Research product, please refer to the Frequently
Asked Questions database on our website at

Important Note: We have modified the default Toolbar Settings for the Omega
Research 2000i products to enhance overall ease-of-use with the products.
When you are installing Service Pack 2, a dialog box will appear asking if
you would like to overwrite the old Toolbar Settings. If you have customized
your Toolbar Settings, it will be necessary for you to enable the box
requesting that your Toolbar Settings be overwritten and the new and
improved default settings replace your customized Toolbar Settings. If you
have not customized your Toolbar Settings, they will be overwritten
automatically to provide you with the new and improved default settings.
Thanks again to all of our Omega Research ProSuite(tm) 2000i users for all

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q1: Why do some Indicators have different values in RadarScreen 2000i than
they do in TradeStation 2000i charts? Is this a problem?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An easier way for you to understand how RadarScreen 2000i works is to
consider it similar to using the Chart Scanner in TradeStation 4.0. In the
Chart Scanner, if you used the maximize calculation speed option, the
results of the indicators would be based on just the max bars back of the
indicator instead of the entire data series of the chart. This is how
RadarScreen 2000i works.
In RadarScreen 2000i, when applying an indicator that uses history, it loads
only the max bars back to use in calculations. With indicators that use
accumulative values, since the amount of data that is used is typically
shorter than that of a chart, the value(s) appear differently. This just
means that the values are based on a different amount of data than charting.
Even in charting this can be illustrated by creating two daily charts that
have different numbers of backs back, but end on the current day or same
day.
When applying any indicator that accumulates value, the end result will
differ because of the amount of data that the indicator is applied to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q2: How do I use Custom Symbol Lists and create my own (without having to
type in each symbol).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The symbol list is designed to offer you a quick way to add an industry
group to RadarScreen 2000i without having to select each individual symbol
in the server and insert it into RadarScreen.
There are several ways to create the symbol lists; you can simply highlight
the symbols in RadarScreen 2000i, right click and select create symbol list.
You can also create a list by using the following instructions:
Custom symbol lists may be created manually by following a strict format.
The file must be pure text format. Only one symbol may be listed per line.
The exchange may be optionally listed following the symbol separated by a
comma. All text following a ';' will be ignored.
These instructions are included in every list that is created from
RadarScreen 2000i. All files have to use the .CSL extension in order to be
read by RadarScreen 2000i.
If the file is created using Word, you can rename the extension to .CSL
after it is saved in the proper format and then move the file into the
Custom Symbol List directory and it will appear in RadarScreen 2000i. You
should be aware that if you have created any symbol lists in Excel or Word,
you can copy the symbols from these documents and paste them on to a
RadarScreen 2000i page.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q3: Where is my QuoteMonitor?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you have RadarScreen 2000i you do not need a QuoteMonitor.
RadarScreen 2000i adds many features that allow you to perform analysis
similar to that of charting. The QuoteMonitor is just a basic quote window,
which allows the display of real-time data that is transmitted from your
Datafeed. RadarScreen 2000i has all this functionality and a whole lot more.
It gives you the ability to display and analyze historical data that is
stored in the server, it will dynamically sort and group symbols and it
includes a library of over 100 built-in indicators. RadarScreen 2000i is
also the only program that can scan the markets in real-time for symbols
based on your own custom criteria.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q4: How can I copy and paste from one page to another or from Excel
spreadsheets and back?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a great way to create a Custom Symbol List if you already have a
list of symbols in an Excel spreadsheet. Copy the list to RadarScreen 2000i,
then right-click and create your own Custom Symbol List. Also, if you have a
large number of Indicators applied, you can have the same symbols on each
page with different Indicators.
RadarScreen 2000i functions similar to Excel when it comes to Copy and Paste
functionality. However, RadarScreen 2000i only allows this in the symbol
column. You can enter a list of symbols, then highlight the group and copy
them to another page, Excel sheet, Word document, or any program that can
read information from Windows Clipboard. The symbols that are copied to
Excel, will not update; they are only text and do not carry data with them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q5: Creating Indicators specific to RadarScreen 2000i.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Creating an indicator for RadarScreen 2000i is no different than creating
one for charting. However, you do have to check the RadarScreen 2000i box on
the applications tab in the indicator properties. This is done in the
EasyLanguage(tm) PowerEditor(tm).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q6: What is the difference between the End of Day and Real-time Template.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are only small modifications that have been made to the templates. The
default real-time template added the moving average 2-line indicator. The
end of day indicator did not change, except that the 52 week high/low
indicator added a new plot 9% of high) to the indicator.
You should use the End of Day Template in RadarScreen 2000i if you do not
subscribe to real-time/delayed data from a supported data provider. This
template enables you to conduct analysis on an End of Day basis using data
from HISTORYBANK.COM(SM).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q7: Adding symbols, inserting Indicators, changing colors/fonts, etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are several ways to add symbols to RadarScreen 2000i. The Insert -
Symbol menu, copy and paste from a text file, added from symbol list, or
typed in a group of cells. With indicators, the user can add them by using
the Insert - Indicator menu, the indicator chooser, or by applying a
template.

OPTIONSTATION 2000I
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q1: I am having trouble finding positions in the Position Search Wizard
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finding positions in the Position Search window originally depended on the
bid and ask data that you were collecting. Because some datafeeds don't send
Bid and Ask information, it is possible that you would not find any
positions when running a position search on raw Bid and Ask Data, which was
the default model. To get around this problem we changed the models that the
search would use from the beginning. The default models have been changed
for both OptionStation 2000i windows. The analysis window now uses the Black
Scholes, Implied Weighted Average and Close of Option. The Position Search
window now uses Black Scholes, Implied Weighted Average and Theoretical
Value.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q2: The numbers I am getting in my Position Search Results window do not
look right - purchase options for 0 premium,etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some of the new filters were implemented in this area. We have changed it so
positions based on zero Bid-Ask data and zero Volatility are automatically
filtered out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q3: It seems to take a long time to run a Position Search and to open an
Analysis window.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have made changes to the speed at which both windows now open. Both
windows have a very significant and noticeable improvement in the time they
take to run.
