Omega says "shipping of the updates to all 2000i software users is expected to
commence no later than next week."
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 1999--Omega Research, Inc.
(NASDAQ:OMGA) announced today the release of its second service
package update for its new 2000i line of investment analysis software
products, Omega Research ProSuite(TM) 2000i, TradeStation(R) 2000i,
RadarScreen(TM) 2000i and OptionStation(R) 2000i, as well as for
HISTORYBANK.COM Financial Database(TM) and HISTORYBANK.COM Daily
Update Service(SM). The products were officially released in February
of this year.
The updates to the 2000i programs contain enhancements that
render operation of the programs faster, reduce memory capacity
consumption, increase robustness, and add functionality.
The updates also contain important improvements to both
HISTORYBANK.COM Financial Database, Omega Research's historical
financial market database included with each 2000i product, and
HISTORYBANK.COM Daily Update Service, the Company's end-of-day data
solution for its customers who use end-of-day data, and its refresh
service solution for its customers who use real-time data.
Enhancements to HISTORYBANK.COM Financial Database include the
addition of back-adjusted continuous futures contracts, adjustments to
reflect company "spin-offs," and significant additional correction of
data (known as "data scrubbing"), including, in particular,
corrections of volume data and filling-in of time gaps in data.
Enhancements to HISTORYBANK.COM Daily Update Service include
automatic data error correction, faster access and display of data,
improved interfaces to avoid confusion for the user as to how much and
what types of data are being downloaded, and additional internal
utilities to enable "data scrubbing" on a more frequent and accurate
basis.
The updates were released to manufacturing May 4, and shipping of
the updates to all 2000i software users is expected to commence no
later than next week. All of the enhancements, including those
relating to HISTORYBANK.COM, have already been incorporated in the
products that are being shipped to new customers.
Omega Research's 2000i line of software products is compatible
with the following real-time Internet and broadcast data services:
Data Broadcasting Corporation's (NASDAQ:DBCC) Signal Online
(Internet), StockEdge Online (Internet), InSite (Internet), DBC Signal
(Broadcast) and BMI (Broadcast); Data Transmission Network
Corporation's (NASDAQ:DTLN) DTN Real Time and DTNstant (Broadcast);
and PC Quote, Inc.'s (AMEX:PQT) Hyperfeed(TM) (Internet and
Broadcast). Agreements are also in place to add, later this year, as
compatible real-time data services, FutureSource Information Systems,
Inc.'s MDS network and stand-alone datafeeds, and Standard & Poor's
ComStock's Xpressfeed(TM).
