When I was in Moscow in 1996 they even had a copy of "Windows 96" - I
did not bother to check the content. They have extensive fairs
were you can get any type of software and music at very reasonable
prices. The only way you can guess that they might not be original is
by the badly printed paper covers in the CD. I can only guess
that the Russian government takes the attitude that they are helpful
for the economy since the fair was in a proper exhibition hall and
no police was bothering anyone. (A regular Windows 98 costs several
times a monthly pensioner's income)

Blatant cheap custom programming advert following:

In case that anyone has demand for very reasonable priced custom
programming I can offer programming services. We are using Russian
scientific programmers who deliver first class service. Of course you
could contact programmers directly however some might prefer not go
through the negotiation process and payment difficulties. Furthermore
we know who delivers and who doesn't and only choose programmers who
are honest and don't engage in selling the custom software to others.
