Re: Insecured Traders?

In my "copious" spare time, I enjoy competition silhouette pistol
marksmanship. I started out just shooting at the target. Then, I learned
how to place my body into a position which minimized my variance on the
target. After that, I learned how to measure the effects of bullet drop
and windage based on the adjustable parameters of my tool - and then, I
learned how to vary the bullet weight, shape, and powder charge behind
it. I kept records of all of this. Everything that I did reduced my
feeling that "I could have done something better." Each of these
adjustments occurred due to the elevated capabilities of my tools of
measurement and the feedback they provided. My scores gradually (rather
quickly - compared to my associates) improved. But, could I, today, just
stand and shoot from the hip? No, I don't think so... And, some would
say that all of my improvement was "artificial." because it was not
"instinctive." No, I just had a good mind and a method and GOOD TOOLS.
The use of the tools that we all use today in trading are just that. Not
a crutch - an extension of ourselves - tools (as natural to us as our
own hands) to draw back the veil which we could not see through before.
Such is science...

Personally, I hope that the "Ludites" (anti technologists) that have
been influencing the political arena move into the financial arena in a
significant way - especially since I play the commodities. (which are a
"zero sum" game) You can speak fundamentals or "knowing what you are
doing" all you want... What matters in the end is the "bottom line."

To be honest, much of my "experimentation" in the market has been a loss
- generally testing the waters on my own personal fantasies versus my
systems. (I should have listened to my systems.) Now, I have a set of
methods which I have back tested over a couple issues and am expanding
to the entire liquid futures market. It has performed well in such.
(Very well indeed!) I could NEVER have gotten the insights to create
these systems without TradeStation or NeuroShell Trader, GeneHunter or
several of my other indicators/development systems. I can't say that I
have seen any great (realized) success yet - but I am sure, that when I
start large trading based upon my systems - I shall be light years ahead
of those who had them not... In the mean time - I am not wasting my
money based upon the advise of others...

To be honest, I think that those who decry our use of these systems are
the ones who have "The most to lose." To put it simply - it is like the
use swords, pikes lances and armor - after the event of the crossbow
and gunpowder. Doomed to extinction...

That sounds, to me, more like confidence then insecurity.
