OK, we have heard that Mark Jurik produces fine software and provides great
support. But we haven't heard very much about how this software improves the
bottom line (backed up by some numbers) and that is the crux of the issue.

What would be interesting is to create a benchmark by say taking a simple trading
system such as a reversal system based on closing price crossing the moving
average and compare the results from say a linearly weighted moving average,
Kaufman AMA and Jurik AMA and tabulate the results for different parameter
settings. The best way to compare apples with apples is to ensure that the number
of trades is approximately the same in each case.

Several years ago I in fact proposed such a test on this list to Mark Jurik but it
got stuck in a black hole.
