When I place two different time frames of the same price series in one chart
(S&P 1 and 5 min) and then create indicators like a moving average for both
time series, I get indicator display problems. The shorter time frame
indicator will appear normal but the longer time frame indicator will appear
jagged. If I change the status from on to off and then back to on the
longer term indicator will appear normal but then again begin to display as
a jagged line as new data is plotted. The problem only occurs with live
data.
I've talked to Omega's tech department about the problem. They, for the
moment, are also stumped as to what is wrong. They were unable to create
the problem on their computers using live data and the same setup for data
series and indicators that I had. A possible culprit was thught to be
display drivers. I'm using a colorgraphics Evolution 4 graphics card with 2
Sony monitors. The tech department at Colorgraphics assured me that a
number of people are using their graphics cards and successfully operating
TS 4.0. Whether there is a problem with other installations using a
multiple timeframe in the same window is unknown.
I'm using Win98, an AMD-200 CPU, and 64 meg of ram. I vaguely remember a
similar problem quite some time ago when I was upgrading operating systems
but for whatever reason the problem disapeared.
Thanks in advance,
Rod
