On a busy day, you can overwhelm any system. Add to this the packet loss
problem of the internet, and you can see the problems multiply.
Next door to my office is a NASDAQ (and listed stocks) market making
firm. A real one, not the deal you see on TV where they try to bring in
people off the street and trade their own account. On the busy days this
week they have the same problems (or worse) with delays, etc. and they
tell me they are getting fills $5 away from what they are seeing on the
screen. And they have system outages, all the same problems you read
about here.
So it's not just you, it happens on all electronic platforms.
