I run Tradestation under NT4 and only once have I had a GPF
crash or any others I could attribute to TS. I was trying to import
an ela during trading hours instead of offline. Since I run TS4
bld 21 only on that computer usually, and am networked to a computer
which is on the Internet all day, perhaps this points to your problem
being hardware related or conflicts between other programs and TS.
I always exit TS using TS buttons and haven't had a problem except
I had to reload TS when it got weird after a brownout caused a reboot.
I have had (rare) occasional task manager freeze and crashes on my
communications computer under NT4; plenty of hardware related
crashes.
Perhaps the reason I have had no crashes
related to TS data feed problems is that I run my data into a buffered
high speed ISA serial card, a successor to T-port, even though
NT4 is not supposed to need one. Remember NT4 is the program
Microsoft originally said does not need to be defragmented. If you
don't defrag, that in itself may be the cause of your crashes. Terry
