Do the best technical traders do stocks or commodities?

Investor's Business Daily just conducted a poll that may shed some light
on
this topic. 56.4% of new investors (defined as those with five or less
years experience) use stocks as their primary trading tool versus 5.5%
for
futures and 10% for options. However, with experienced investors, the
percentages were 64.1% for stocks and dropping to 1.4% for futures and
1.7%
for options. Even more telling was the fact that of those with the most
money, over $500,000 in their accounts, only 1% used futures and
options
(combined) as their primary trading vehicle. That compares with 27% for
those with accounts under $100,000. So one could conclude here that the
more experienced and wealthy the trader, the less likely they are to
trade
futures and options. The reasons for this would lead to some
interesting
debates in this newsgroup. Of course, others may draw different
conclusions
depending on their agenda, i.e. futures brokers or vendors of commodity
and
option related products.
