EL books -- any comments?

I'd appreciate any comments you might have on "Learning Easy Language"
and "Easy Language--Learning by Example."

Are they more than simple rewrites of the Omega manuals?  Have you
found them useful?  I'm not a skilled programmer but I have been
diddling as a hobbyist with simple code for too many years.  Which, if
either, would you reccomend for starters?  Are there any other EL books
that I've missed?
