I agree with Neil on the futures vs stocks and mutual funds.

It is much easier to make money trading stocks, or the Rydex
Funds, Fidelity Selects or SPY'ers than it is the SP futures
or any other futures, but Trade Station, Omega World and
TAG are mostly futures oriented, though the trading methodology
for the most part can be applied to stocks. Most products
assume you are trading futures and don't support very well
what a day trader in stocks wants and needs. Commissions,
slippage, and how you test and run chart scanner are not set up
for trading stocks. If fact, it makes it difficult and
time consuming where it does not need to be.

At TAG, you hear alot of, "We are getting more stock
and option traders these days" meaning that they are getting
rookie boneheads. I have found though when I find someone sitting
next to me totally clueless, upon talking to them they will
be a broker for a large firm sent there for training. Scary.

When people ask me why I don't trade futures, it a simple answer.
First, the SP 500 futures are like playing in the NBA. Why play
a zero sum game against the best everyday? Second, with so many
stocks, you can find set ups in your favor that the whole world
is not trading. With SPY'ers and the Rydex funds, you can
handle a little volatility with out getting killed.
