I've noticed lately with two days specified, if I have to load a
chart midweek, as in after a power outage, I'll get the "too many
bars" message, and have to specify one day (this is SP, with
globex included). But after the globex starts, often the chart
will go blank with only one day specified, and begin showing just
the new globex-session ticks. At that point, I can change the
setting to two days, and it'll show the previous session too.
When starting up Sunday night, I can tell it three days, and because
of the weekend, it'll take it and display fine, and as long as
nothing disturbs the chart for the rest of the week, all is well.
So your change from SP to DSP and back to SP may just have been
the kick it needed, and depending on where you were in its idea
of the various session times and day boundaries, it had enough
bars to be visible, but be below the 13K limit.
