Ron,

I've used Dreyfus, (previously Pacific) approaching the 6 month mark now
and I'm very happy to say they're really quite good. I daytrade equities
and trade index and equity options.

All the windows are no nonsense, quick loading and clear to understand.

Executions are quick and confirmations are quick. I use a R/T BMI
datafeed and am aware of bid/ask spreads as I open or close positions. I
usually can type, send, and get confirmations of uncomplicated limit
orders in the span of 2-3 minutes.

Their servers have been down for small time frames ,on 3 separate
occasions and except for the high volume day of 10/28/97, the 800 number
has always got me to a broker. I've never needed to e-mail them with any
problems or questions.

I might like to add I recently closed an account with Ameritrade,
(previously Aulfhauser) for the EXACT opposite reasons, after being a
customer for 2 years.

Good Trading,

David Chan
