Fellow Traders:
There have been a number of posts to the Omega-list recently concerning
Window on WallStreet Day Trader and Day Trader Pro. As the person
responsible for our Day Trader business, and one who personally reads the
postings to The List, I wanted to clarify some of the misunderstandings and
answer some of the common questions we get regarding these products:
1) Day Trader has been shipping since September '97. It includes a whole
host of features including system testing AND its own programming language.
This easy-to-use language is comparable to Metastock's and is powerful
enough for most users.
2) Day Trader Pro was announced in January '98 with an expected release
next quarter, the second quarter, of 1998 (
http://www.wallstreet.net/Day%20Trader%20Pro%20Release.html ).
3) Day Trader Pro will have a development environment, "TradeTalk", for the
programming of advanced trading systems. Day Trader Pro will run existing
Easy Language programs without modification and will correct some of the
problems in running EL code on that "other platform".
4) Those interested in reselling or developing products for Day Trader or
Day Trader Pro can email their inquiry in confidence to
solutions@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
5) Qualified resellers and solutions providers will be eligible for a
complementary subscription to Day Trader, and soon, Day Trader Pro, for the
purpose of evaluation, development, and testing. A nominal setup fee will
apply. Requests, along with your interest in the Window On WallStreet
Solutions Provider Program, should also be directed to
solutions@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
6) The price for Day Trader Pro has not yet been released nor has the price
of a competitive upgrade. However, we can say now that purchasers of Day
Trader will be able to apply 100% of their investment in Day Trader toward
a purchase of Day Trader Pro.
The Day Trader Series of real-time trading software is Window On
WallStreet's first entry into the real-time market. I assure you that we
are applying the same customer focus and attention to detail that gave us
over 80% market share for investment software in the retailers across all
of North America.
Direct inquiries, comments, and suggestions about your needs or our
products should go to our "solutions" address but can also be made directly
to my email address. I will apologize in advance if I am not able to
respond to you personally, but I assure you that, just like with your
comments in this forum, the management team here is listening and is
focused on providing the best trading platform available.
Good trading,
-SMD
