Do you have a firewall running? If so, disable/shut it (disconnect from
internet in the meantime so you don't expose your unprotected PC), then run
MS again. If it shuts down again, there's some other issue, but if it
remains open, you know its the firewall, and do the following:
Re-enable/restart your firewall, open the Program Control (or similar) tab,
scroll down to Metastock entry (in ZoneAlarm, which I use, its listed as
mswin) - right click, choose Options (or similar) - check Allow Application
Interaction (or similar). Close out. MS should work just fine now.
Note that the above steps are for ZoneAlarm firewall; if you use another
one, it should have corresponding actions.

Hi Roy,
I tried that, but to no avail. Thanks very much though, for taking the
trouble.
Regards
Rakesh
ps: Roy are there any other products/methods for determining the
currently dominant cycle? This was the sum total of my use of MS using
the FFT my mainstay being AmiBroker.I sure would like to be done with
this program for good, if I could find an alternative.
