To further elaborate on this, and to add to Pumrysh's comments that
this doesn't tell us the direction
a stock can take after the bandwidths contract, I use this indicator
which I call R2 (R-Squared)
Mov((Pwr(Corr(Cum(1),C,9,0),2)),3,S)
You can change the "9" above to say....21.
When this indicator is low, and the stock is in an uptrend and
consolidating, it's a good bet that when
R2 begins to rise, so will the stock.
Try it on say AAPL.
You can can combine the "fml("Narrow Bandwidth") and the above R2
formula in your exploration. I do.
