You have to use his whole system, or you can use the alligator like a
moving average with other indicators of your choice. Since the
Wilder's are offset, there's some lag, but the lag gets rid of some of
the whipsaws. 

Your choice. There's not magic here. It's a decent system. The
alligator combines well with Clayburg's system from his book Four
Steps to Trading Success. His indicators are more reliable than the AO
and AC.

Read the book if you want to know how to use his stuff.
