If your MetaStock data is stored in a seies of folders
C:\MetaStock Data\A\
C:\MetaStock Data\B\
C:\MetaStock Data\C\
and so on, the the smart charts will be stored in folders
C:\MetaStock Data\A\MSSmart\
C:\MetaStock Data\B\MSSmart\
C:\MetaStock Data\C\MSSmart\
etc.

Yes you can do that. You can either delete just the contents of each MSSMart folder, or the folder
complete with contents. Until existing smart charts are deleted, those particular charts will not
reflect any changes made to the default template. Only when the smart chart is removed will MS
create a new smart chart using the current default template.

Just right clicking in an open area of a chart and selecting "save as default template" shold
overwrite the existing default template with the currently open chart. If it won't then I don't know
what the problem is. Templates can be found in the "Charts" folder as *.mwt files. Among others
there should be a DEFAULT.mwt and CLEAN.mwt.

As Tony suggests, you should use Windows Explorer to navigate around the various folders. You cannot
delete a smart chart for a MetaStock security that is currently open, and to prevent errors on
startup (irritating but not fatal) you should close existing charts in MetaStock before shutting it
down when intending to delete smart charts. If you leave a chart open when you close MS to delete
smart charts, MetaStock will try to reopen the previously open chart on next startup. Obviously it
will have a problem if the chart is no longer available, but moving to the File / Open menu to open
the security will open the file and create a new smart chart without any drama.
