Alan,
Have not tried it myself, but have known people
use the rand() function of Excel to "create" hypothetical data, using the
parameters of circuit limits.

  Engineered security files
Does anyone know if it's possible to create data files for
fictitious securities? When programmers are unclear about the
effects of a piece of code, a common trick is to create a test file
containing completely artificialdata that is deliberately chosen to test
the appropriate code.If we could create such files, it would be a lot
easier to test some of the theories on stop losses (and other theories)
  that have been appearing
  recently.Regards,Alan Yahoo! Groups
