Thanks for the
response. I suspected as much and your confirmation confirms my suspicions. You
summed it up with your reference to "turning a plot on and off"; that is
precisely what I am looking to do; I may have 10 - 20 trades in a single year on
a single stock; these may run from 1 day to 21 days+ and I was looking for a way
to turn the TS plot ON and OFF when IN and OUT of a trade and to be able to
repeat the exercise across an extended time frame.
<SPAN
class=103512521-26102003>
I like your way of
looking at the obstacle (or is it looking around the perceived obstacle??); I
will keep searching for the solution to this one and keep you posted.
<SPAN

As far as the
visuals go, I have been used to looking at my charts with the trailing stop as a
light gray line (so that the L/(H) plot did not interfere with interpretation);
when I discovered the masking indicator, I was immediately able to bump up the
line thickness and colour contrast and make the individual trades immediately
visible from a cursory inspection; maybe MetaStock would like to add such a
switching fucntion to their "client wish list" ??

going to be available!!

[EquisMetaStock Group] Re: anyone know how to plot a trailing stop only while
in a trade?MikeThe ability to turn a plot on
and off would be nice but there is nopractical way to do it at the
moment. It's easily possible to truncate aplot at either end of any
given signal even though there are code overheadsin doing so. Moving one
step further requires another whole set of solutionsthat I feel is really
beyond the scope of MS formula language. However Iprefer to think of
situations like merely as obstacles to which thesolutions haven't been
found yet rather than that no solutions are possible.I'm impressed
with your method of getting your trail UNDER the candles. Anice piece of
lateral thinking.I've had some success with covering up transitions
and blanking initial zeroplots (turning from zero to N/A) so let me know
if there's any way I mightbe able to advance the cause a little
further.Roy> I remember following that thread and I have

Would still like to find a way to do it in formula language
tho'.>> Thanks for the heads up on your earlier
