Thanks everyone for the helpful comments! I really appreciate them :)
I understand the general attitute some people take toward new users -
that they should read the manual before asking questions. True - many
times they don't read the manual! And true, I have been guilty of
that a number of times, to chain me up :)
Well anyways...
In specific, my initial query was in relation to smart charts. I know
when you first open up a smart chart for a specific security, the
default template is applied against it so you get the price/volume
look. When one modifies the chart and closes it, the changes are
saved. Thus, when you open up the smart chart again, it appears as it
did in its last state. I wanted to know how one resets a smart chart
for a particular security so that you have that initial price/volume
look again. I noticed that this can be accomplished by:
Method 1:
1. File > New > Chart .. and open the security's chart which will
have the price/volume look, then...
2. File > Save As > "Save As Type = Smart Chart"
Method 2:
The other way to do this is to delete the "MSSmart" subdirectory
folder within the securities data folder. Upon deleting this folder I
noticed that all smart charts are reset to their default price/volume
look. Because there doesn't seem to be any 1-to-1 relationship
between the security's name and the name of the files in the MSSmart
directory, it's a little difficult to selectively reset the look of a
particular security to its default price/volume.
Isn't there simpler shortcut method to do this reset aside from the
above methods?
My enquiry is perfectly valid from a new user perspective as neither
the user manual nor the 'Help' menu mentions this "MSSmart"
subdirectory :)
Cheers,
Voirin
