If the 
undermentioned doesn't work try using Microsoft's free utility TweakUI and use 
the "Repair Icons" feature for fixing corruption in this area. I use Windows XP 
and TweakUI is part of the PowerToys utilility. I believe there are similar 
tools for other version of Windows.
