The only time I can get a detached Commentary window is if I choose Expert
Commentary after going to Full Screen (both choices are in the View menu)

I have attached a zipped Word file showing my screen before and after
choosing View | Expert Commentary

And I don't see the inverted black arrow/triangle when I (right-or left-)
click on the background in a chart window. I can go from date to date via
the Expert Commntary arrows, but this window always opens on the most recent
date--despite where I clicked beforehand.

So maybe I am set up differently than you...

BTW, i don't think it matters but I have the intraday version of 8.01 and
use Qcharts for my data feed.
